A SHORT DESCRIPTION OF OUR INSTITUTION
CPIA Taranto stands for Provincial Center for Adult Education and Training. It’s a State School established by the Ministry of Education, Universities and Research. and the Apulia region (DDG n. 6154 del 09.06.2014) to meet the educational needs of a large number of young and older adults.
The school offers Italian and foreign citizens, included the prisoners over 16 years of age, adult education services and activities, considered as an element to encourage the personal, cultural, social and economic growth of all of them.
Foreign citizens must be in possession of a valid residence permit in Italy
The Educational Offer of CPIA is mainly focused on three areas:
• language and social integration courses for foreigners. At the end of the courses and after passing a final test, the CPIA issues an Italian language competence certificate (L2);
• programs aimed at acquiring a diploma at the end of the first cycle of education (middle school diploma);
• functional reading and writing courses (foreign language courses and basic information technology).
The CPIA Taranto employs one Headmistress, 41 teachers appointed by the Ministry of Education, Universities and Research, with specific experience in adult education; a thirty people administrative and auxiliary staff and hosts about 1450 adult students.
